Celebrating Gifts: Loved Ones Lives, Hospice and Music

Hospice has been important to many families in the Bemidji area since 1982. As people face the terminal illness of a loved one the hospice team steps forward to help care for the whole family unit. There is no way that those who have been helped by hospice can repay them for the love and compassion shown at this difficult time. This benefit will be an opportunity for young and old to rejoice for the gift each loved one was to their families and friends as well as hospice’s gift to us. Music is included as a gift because many times it is what gets us through the day as it comforts, relaxes and renews our spirits. We will be celebrating these gifts with a remembrance program, silent auction, bake sale, lefse, wagon rides, “dancing to become stars”, horseshoe tournament, hug a healthcare worker, different kinds of music, games such as bean bag toss for children and cast iron frying pan toss for adults, an evening meal and a dance. This event is meant to be a time for thankfulness and fun as we celebrate the gifts and to support hospice's work in this area. There will be many possibilities for you to volunteer to help make this event a success. Please take time to look at the rest of the information on the website to see how you can be of assistance and to find out what events you want to take part in.
